Green Gables, the home of Lucy Maude Montgomery’s fictional character Anne Shirley, is an international tourist destination in Prince Edward Island, Canada’s smallest province. The new Green Gables Heritage Place was built to modernize the offerings on the site of this famous home, including an exhibition that appeals to visitors of all ages from around the globe. Interpreting Montgomery’s vivid imagination through modern design details, family friendly interactives, and compelling historical and contemporary stories, the new facility provides a one-stop resource for visitors who want to tour the site and learn more about the author, the character, and the setting.
