Dawson City Museum
Permanent Exhibition
Dawson City Museum sought to redesign its permanent exhibition and broaden its narrative to include more than just the Klondike Gold Rush. A key focus was recognizing the central role of the Tr’ondëk Hwëch'in First Nation in Dawson’s history.
Origin Studios collaborated with museum staff to shift from a strictly chronological format to thematic storytelling, better aligned with the collection. This process included consultations with regional stakeholders, especially the Tr’ondëk Hwëch'in. Origin Studios worked closely with knowledge holders to ensure their story was represented respectfully and accurately. The redesigned exhibition allows the museum to highlight key objects and narratives that reflect the broader and more inclusive history of the Klondike—sharing the diverse stories of the people who have shaped Dawson City over time.
