Grey Roots Museum & Archives
Grey County Gallery
Abundance/Connection/Permanence/Hope
With Grey’s in-house team, Origin Studios led a multi-phase project to amplify the region’s diverse and distinct stories while getting more of the collection on display. Phase one established styling for the gallery along with affordable modular exhibitry and a custom process for future phases. Each phase included a robust artifact placement process and further developed the approach to accommodate new objects and evolving narratives. Working from a point-cloud scan, our design balances long-term flexibility for artifact rotation with a more inclusive, cohesive, and seamless display. Exhibitry was intentionally designed offset from the gallery’s curved wall, creating visual clarity while discreetly integrating storage and operational space behind the exhibitry which reflects day-to-day museum needs. Origin also provided strategic interpretive planning and graphic styling that empowers the in-house team to continue updating the galleries over time. Grounded in place-making and the communities that make up Grey County, this exhibition facilitates connections with the past while remaining future-focused and responsive.
