Coffee For Two

Cultures in Dialogue

Coffee for Two: Cultures in Dialogue, curated by the Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum in Doha, explores the cultural significance of coffee—the world’s most social beverage. From traditional Arabic Qahwa to American Starbucks culture, coffee is more than a drink; it’s an experience and a universal gesture of connection. Celebrating the Qatar–USA Year of Cultural Exchange, the exhibition highlights coffee as a bridge uniting people across cultures.

Origin Studios designed this sustainably planned travelling exhibition remotely from Canada during 2020–2021. Featuring objects from the Museum’s collection, it recreates a traditional Arabic majlis, adapted for social distancing while remaining warm and inviting. The exhibition combines in‑person and virtual programming, including the “A Coffee With” conversation series, and toured through 2023.
