Over the recent holidays, Origin Studios moved to a new location in Ottawa’s Byward Market. Our phone number (613-789-7272) and email addresses remain the same; however, our new mailing address effective immediately is:

We're Moving!

Over the holidays, we are leaving our current location at 457A Sussex Drive to take up residence in a new office just a few blocks away at 109 Murray Street. We will still be centrally located in downtown Ottawa’s Byward Market – we like good restaurants too much to leave – and while we enjoy our current space, we need to relocate so the landlord can fix the building's structural problems (see photos below). We are taking advantage of this unfortunate situation to increase our office size, do an annual purge of old papers and magazines, and upgrade our coffee machine, all of which will contribute immeasurably to happier, more creative designers!

Our phone number (613-789-7272) and email contacts will remain the same, but as of January 1, 2016, our new address will be:

To facilitate the move, we will be closed from December 21, 2015, to January 4, 2016, while we pack, unpack, reconfigure networks, test the coffee machine, and just generally get the new office ready for the new year. Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 is Open!

Origin Studios is proud to be the exhibit designers of record for the new permanent exhibitions at the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 (CMIP). The Museum officially opened its expanded galleries to the public on June 25 with new stories, new content, and more than double the space in its heritage building on Halifax’s waterfront. We were honoured to work with the Museum’s excellent exhibition development team to help them realize their vision and goals for this important new national museum. Origin Studios would also like to acknowledge the professionalism and creativity of the project’s museum consultant, Lord Cultural Resources, and our fabrication and media partners, kubik Inc. and Richard Lewis Media Group.

The Rooms First World War Exhibition Receives More Funding

Origin Studios pleased to share the news that The Rooms’ Where Once They Stood We Stand Capital Campaign has received generous donations from Fortis Inc. and Newfoundland philanthropist Elinor Gill Ratcliffe. Much of this funding will be put towards the new Royal Newfoundland Regiment Gallery at The Rooms Museum in St. John’s, Newfoundland, which will be the largest exhibition dedicated to the First World War in Canada. We congratulate The Rooms on their continuing success and, as the exhibit designers for this important project, we look forward to creating an exhibition with the museum’s dedicated staff that will honour the legacy of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment and the Newfoundlanders and Labradorians who contributed to the war effort on the home front.

Pier 21 Exhibition Opens at Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21

One of the two galleries designed by Origin Studios for the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, Halifax, is now open! The renewed Pier 21 Gallery opened on May 5 and the new Canadian Immigration Story exhibition will open on June 25. We offer our congratulations to the Museum during this exciting period of renewal and expansion, and encourage visitors to check out the new exhibition.
